Kaiser Blade - What the heck am i doing wrong ? Use it mainly to keep the growth of my fence. The tool in the op is a ditch bank blade or kaiser blade. I have cut down bushes and small trees with it the size of my arm. My grandpa called it a kaiser blade.i have cleared a lot of brush out of fence rows with one of those. The “blade” is both a conventional blade with a good belly and a protected point, gut hook and its axis is in the center. Having a very difficult time trying to sharpen a new burk bush axe, a bastardize file isn’t putting a dent in it, tried a 80 grit diablo wheel, and still can’t get a sharp edge? Each end of the blade locks into the handel. I doubt its hollow ground but that dosent much matter for me as. The bush axe powers through branches up to about 1 1/2” with ease, much larger and it might take 2 swings.
